With their newly-subdued prisoner in tow, Shatter led her brigade back to Alteron. The matter of transporting their unscrupulously-obtained goods had already been handled by Warsaw, so Shatter allocated the remainder of their manpower towards dragging Lithium home. Lithium was enormous, and they had not been prepared to bring home live captives, but with his dislocated leg and the addition of some restraints, Shatter was somewhat certain that even if he did happen to reawaken in the middle of their journey, Antaeus and Persephone would be able to keep him under control. Fortunately for Shatter and her team, while their adventure in the human encampment had been rife with difficulty, the trek home went off without a hitch.

Shatter reunited with Schokolade, and from there, the road back to Alteron blurred into nothing. Lone and solitary hours were spent in silence until they were greeted with the familiar sight of a dark monolith of trees, looming before them like the iron bars of a mansion gate, or a forgotten asylum. Once Shatter saw that, and the people who came to welcome them, she considered this mission a success.

Shatter swept her gaze over Lithium, still prostrate and unresisting, and then studied Antaeus and Persephone, as if she were still ascertaining that no loose end could unravel. She trusted Persephone and Antaeus to ensure that their charge remained cooperative. Better any escape attempts not happen midspeech, while she was addressing the Dragon. Next she looked at Schokolade, just to see what treasures she and her ragtag group of volunteers had acquired.

Apparently, only Shatter had returned with a passenger. She supposed an extra wouldn't hurt. If Lithium wasn't to Azuhel's liking, then she still intended to make him pay for her aggravation.

Azuhel's brilliant red form was birthed from between the trees like a sliver of flame from a sooty black pit. Shatter dipped her head in acknowledgment, knowing that the rest of her entourage would require no instruction.

"WE RETURN WITH OUR PRIZE," declared the dark woman, nodding to Lithium on the ground, "INCLUDING A GUARD THAT ATTEMPTED TO STOP US. OUR MISSION WAS A SUCCESS."

He’s got a beast to feed
Yeah, it’s so hungry

The elation that came with success was undeniable. The raid had been utterly stimulating: it had been the first time Warsaw had truly participated in any form of teamwork, and in truth, he had been a little anxious about the prospect. His nervousness had been proven fruitless, however, as it had gone as well as any of them could have hoped. Their cargo was precious: a living, breathing goliath of a creature, as well as the various treasures they had pillaged. The lantern swung from his mouth, perfectly pretty and tantalising, and he held it with a rare sense of pride.

He had waited for them on the outskirts of the village, out of harm's way as instructed, but not far enough away to lose them. He had been a little surprised, but impressed, by the sight of Lithium, and had focused on bringing up the rear of their little party. He carried material goods. They could be dropped, at any moment's notice, in favour of catching an escaping prisoner, should he come loose from his bindings, in the form of Antaeus and Persephone. Thankfully, it had not come to that, and he had pack-horsed their prizes home.

Once they were home, he stood still, though the lantern swung with the motion of his halt. The orange eyes shot over to Shatter, listening to her speak. He placed the lantern carefully on the ground, in case his mouth was needed to speak or restrain, and waited, patiently.

The nameless 8th-wonder of a wolf was silent, muzzle barred from resistance with whatever makeshift restraints the search party could gather before the goliath canine came to.  He felt the teeth of the smaller woman, all knives with her teeth and eyes and every spike on her pelt just as sharp and ugly.  There was the white-faced male, clumsy, but dead in the eyes and if the beast could feel anything, he would fall to his knees and pray to both of them.  But the search party had been thrown to the wolves and the beast was a mothereffing wolf in every sense, from his dirty pelt to the feral grunts that came when he drew a breath.  His pelt, an oily midnight that shone lithium in the light.  Creamsicle eyes flicked from the darklings to the dragon.

None of them were particularly special to him, but he knew dominance when he saw the dark one bow under her presence.  The beta male huffed a snarling, snorting demand, bright eyes glaring back to the woman who had managed to bring him down.  But it was nothing to him.  He had been brought down before.  Tortured.  Burned -- branded, sliced.  He had fought for his life and won; another kingdom couldn't break him.  His silence broke when his limbs twitched and one of his paws shifted to sit up.

Maybe Shatter would turn her teeth to him, maybe the red one.  But if they did so, the giant male, doing all he knew, would snap right back for their eyes.  His useless, dislocated limb was only noticed when a twinge of pain ushered a grunt from the mute.  He forgot the wolves around him to tend to himself.  Nobody could blame him for that.  Hierarchy was useless to him, he only wished for survival.  A massive paw lay on the ground and he angled himself aptly; only making a sudden move to force his shoulder back into its rightful place with a wet crack.

The brute's ears lay back in a show of irritation, tongue flicking out to taste the thick power that wafted from the red dragon.  There was nothing poetic about the still shadow, his unspeaking tongue ever still, too knotted by his past to utter another word in his life.  He had been buried before and only used teaspoons to dig himself back up, and he intended to do it again.  Eyes slid to the gathering, falling on everyone, sizing them up though never moving a muscle.  His hunched, exhausted and bleeding form rolled its shoulders as if asking to release the ropes from their mouths before he started pulling teeth.

Shine razor eyes before the walls come down
Wilder than lions, louder than sound
The birds and the bees are getting older now
There’s a cold breeze blowing over my soul

Shine razor eyes in delight
Shine razor eyes before you die
Shine razor eyes in this light
There’s a cold breeze blowing over my soul

The smell of blood was as titillating as the phantom echoes that often caressed her dreamscape. It brought forth a sense of warmth, of excitement and elation that nothing else really could. It stirred the predator in her, but more than that, it stirred the hunger—the agony that ached in her belly, the selfish want for more and more and more. She knew, without a doubt, that with blood came wolves…

Specifically, in this instance, her raiding party had returned.

With a smile that seemed broad and jolly the dragon moved, all grace and silver tongue with well-groomed pelt and dominant posture. She would welcome her people home with some good ol’ hospitality and since Shatter was the first to arrive she would be the first to catch Azuhel’s embrace.

So long as Shatter did nothing to resist Azuhel would attempt to settle before her if only so she could lift slightly and wrap her forearms around her friend and powerful comrade.

Welcome home!” She said, just a tickling whisper against any available ear, but the nip she’d try to deliver afterwards would seal the affection in her phrase. She was pleased, and would remain so, so long as Shatter’s haul was acceptable.

Yet, as the others tickled in with their… large prize, she’d release Shatter in exchange for standing at her side.

Ah, goodness,” She cooed, with quirked brow and tilted head, her tone of honey one of mild disbelief and idle interest, “What’s all dis then?

She had some information to give them all but first, first she needed to know who the large black wolf was and where the rest of her raiders were.

Oh crap, right, I forgot to tell you guys. Just so you know, it's okay to post bullet points if you want to check in! That means you, Antaeus and Persephone and everyone in East Village Team.
